ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT
Hoosiers have always been the state's most valuable resource. However, our economy is leaving them behind. Housing in Indiana should be stable, accessible, safe, healthy, energy-efficient, and, above all, affordable. By dismantling the Indiana GOP’s “right to work” policies, the Indiana State House of Representatives would help address the affordability crisis impacting Hoosiers across the board.
EDUCATION
Public schools are the heartbeat of our communities. Yet Republicans have failed to live up to the promise of providing quality public education to every Hoosier. Worse yet, they’ve put the future of our state in jeopardy. Between their consistent underfunding, denying educators a pay raise, and super-funding private, unregulated school systems, it’s no wonder we have one of the worst school systems in the country. We must elect Indiana Democrats who will work in the best interest of every student.
REPRODUCTIVE
HEALTHCARE
The Indiana GOP will stop at nothing to completely ban the reproductive rights of millions of Hoosiers. Our state already has one of the third worst maternal mortality rates in the U.S. Indiana House Democrats have made it a priority to pass legislation that expands birth control access, tackles the maternal mortality rate, and puts us in the right place to restore reproductive rights.
INDIANA HOUSE
DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS
The Indiana House Democratic Caucus is the only organization in Indiana with the sole purpose of electing Hoosier Democrats to the State House of Representatives.
IHDC has built a coalition of Representatives who are committed to supporting working families across Indiana. Now, we’re organizing to break the decade-long GOP supermajority in the State House of Representatives. Republican control has given Indiana some of the worst rankings in the country on health, education, wages, and the environment. Hoosiers deserve better. Thankfully, we have a plan to deliver.
“Hoosiers deserve to know this body is working to pass the policies they want and need to prosper. To address the affordability crisis impacting Hoosiers across the board, implement the policies Hoosiers need to thrive—not just survive—our Legislature must allow residents to have a direct say in the laws that govern their lives.” – House Minority Leader Phil GiaQuinta
